FMA Hotline

Got a Question? We’re here to help.

Call the FMA Hotline at: (415) 997-DCYF (3293) or email at [email protected]
Hours: Monday through Thursday, 9AM – 2PM beginning February 2018 through June 2020

What is the FMA Hotline?

Have a tricky QuickBooks question? Just received stock donations for the first time and not sure how to record it? Depreciation got you down? Call or email the FMA Hotline. The hotline is designed to be an on-demand resource to help answer grantee questions or direct grantees to helpful resources.

How it Works

A dedicated FMA consultant will be managing the hotline and email account, and potentially routing calls/emails if appropriate. Whenever possible, calls will be answered live and will involve a short in-take process. Any voice mails will be returned within one business day of the initial call. Calls/emails best suited for the hotline are short, technical questions that can be reasonably answered in a 30 minute conversation or short email response. Below are some types of calls that may be appropriate for the hotline:

  • How should my organization better handle restricted funding or funding that crosses fiscal years?
  • How do I record in-kind donations/stock donations in my accounting software?
  • How should my Board be involved in our upcoming budgeting process?
  • What are some cost allocation methodologies that might work for my organization?

While we’d love to be able to answer all questions, we know some questions are better directed elsewhere and we’ll do our best to direct grantees appropriately. For questions related specifically to City grants or overall City grants management, please contact your City representative directly.
